This past weekend Betty headed down to Columbia, MO to compete in Missouri Loves Company! We always love playing in this tournament late in the fall because we get to see so many different teams from across the country, and it gives us a really good indicator on where we stand as a team and what we really need to focus on during this off season. (We also love it because its only 2 hours away) Betty played 8 games this weekend and only lost to Northwestern on universe point on day 1, and lost to Kali, 10-12, during the Championships on day 2.
Yup, you read that right! Betty made it to the championship game for the 4th year in a row. This alone goes to show how deep of a program we are with our consistent success. Betty fought hard on day 2, being down at half in games against, Illinois and Notre Dame but being able to focus in on the second half to help us advance to the finals.
A lot of our players really stepped up on the field this weekend.Shout out to Sarah, one of our rookies who consistently layed out and used her quick speed to have really intense defense.Another shout out to some
our awesome handlers, Camille, Mimi, Megan, and Malania for gaining so much confidence in their roles this weekend. We saw everyone getting to try new things and expanding their 'frisbee IQ' which is what this fall season is all about!
Our awesome and supportive sideline were cheering out all weekend! Thanks to all of the parents, siblings, and friends that came out to watch us play! Also thanks again to the Mizzou teams and VC for hosting an awesome fall tournament, as always!
Our next tournament probably won;t be until February which gives us a lot of time to prepare in our off season to continue to improve on our game. Our off season consists of practices, specific winter workouts, and more time in the weight room.
ALSO SHOUT OUT TO HADEL AND KK (Betty and Zonal Alum) on getting married this weekend too! A lot of betty and zontals were reunited to celebrate their love!! <33333333
